Coffee [cough] Saturday: I Am Still Sick!

I voted this week!

If you haven’t yet voted, I strongly recommend you do. Voting is important every year, even the midterms, but especially this year with the Iran War, high tariffs, ICE raids and shootings and immigrants’ deaths in custody, grocery and fuel prices running away from us. I would never tell you who to vote for, but I trust the above list gives you an idea of my preferences. But even if my preferences aren’t yours, vote.

Though I am getting better, I am still sick. Because of that, I was late posting my review of The Thirty-nine Steps, and I am not as happy with it as I want to be. Unfortunately, I am at the age when diseases hang out for a long time and take from me more that I want to give. But I posted the review on Wednesday. I am sorry for the delay.

I saw Guardians of the Galaxy, Volumn 3 yesterday. I am a fan! I like all the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, which surprised me since they feature a talking raccoon and Groot, a walking tree. How silly! Maybe good for mindless entertainment, but not for thematic expression. I was foolish! The first movie taught me about teamwork. The second movie explored the concept of family. Both good movies, but Volumn 3, the film I saw yesterday, turned the thematic up three or four notches. Animal experimentation? It’s there. Reconcile your past? Yes. Even the exploration of perfection is there, with the relevant question: What do we give up to be perfect?

I am going to review Maggie: A Girl of the Streets sometime this week. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe on Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday, at the latest. I am sorry, but I want to write a quality review, and unfortunately, I haven’t even started it. My sickness, you see.

I am reading Alicia is in the Basement.

Take care!
